Course Format
Each group meets for one hour a week, and viewing the required preparatory materials should take about another hour. Meetings will occur via Zoom, and groups will also use Slack to explore another form of asynchronous discussion.Course content will include a student-driven selection of the following:
- Thinking about your course content in an online course
- student (and your) workload
- building classroom community in the online classroom
- promoting discussion (in synchronous meetings and asynchronously)
- organization, transparency, and communicating information about the course Equity and accessibility (beyond learning accommodations: timezones, challenges to learning from home, technological barriers to learning synchronously)
Course Fees
This course charges a $10 committment fee to hold your seat in your preferred meeting group. If you attend all 6 sessions, your fee will be refunded. This course is being offered solely as a public good to the academic community. To accomodate charges from the credit card companies and PayPal for both the initial payment and the refund, the class is billed for $11.
